FLIGHTS


To fly from London to Baku is roughly a 5 hour direct journey. Direct flights run from London Heathrow to Heydar Aliyev airport through Azal (Azerbaijani Airlines). These flights run every other day off peak and everyday during peak season. Flights have a range from Economy to Business and First Class, with economy being a well serviced journey with in flight entertainment, free newspapers, a meal and blankets / pillows provided for later flights.

If you need to fly on a day which isn’t serviced by Azal flights, Turkish airlines have ‘1 stop’ flights everyday from all of the main London airports. Stops usually occur in Istanbul and range from an hour to four hours stop over. Turkish airlines also offer free in flight entertainment and a meal.

Both services offer vegetarian / vegan / allergy option meals that should be pre-booked.

Haydar Aliyev Airport is the only commercial airport in Baku and serves a number of European and International airlines. It is also the hub of internal flights across Azerbaijan and has daily flights to Ganja.

The easiest and most practical way get from Heydar Aliyev airport to the City is by Taxi. This service should cost from 30 – 40Manat although taxi drivers will try to ask for more. Make sure you agree a price with the taxi driver before you get into the cab. The airport has recently installed an official taxi rank into the airport to make it easier to get a properly priced taxi to the centre.
