BUSINESS IN BAKU

Since the independence of Azerbaijan in the 90’s – the economy has become continually strengthened by private company set up, and more recently this has been shaped by internet business start ups and a boom of remote business working. Although having a strong public sector, buildings and infrastructure have been put in place in Baku especially to harness the power of web-based privatisation. For example a new free public internet service for Baku residents.

Floors, The Housing Space

Floors is a hostel, come bar, come business hub. A space for creative minds, you can hire a room to sleep in for the night or make art from for a week. Its most recent business guests including Amazon who work remotely from Floors.

Set up in the old town next door to the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, this refreshingly vibrant space was set up by a young Azerbaijani after having spent a year in Australia in a refurbished 1920’s ‘oil-boom’ building. It has a resident dachshund and a fabulous roof garden and cocktail menu.

White City Offices

White City is an area within Baku that is currently under a large development process in order to make the area more enjoyable for the general public and to create a scenic business district in a once heavily industrial area.
